{"id":26568,"date":"2023-10-20T11:48:22","date_gmt":"2023-10-20T19:48:22","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.fifthestate.org\/?page_id=26568"},"modified":"2023-10-20T11:48:22","modified_gmt":"2023-10-20T19:48:22","slug":"students-plan-anti-war-meet","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/www.fifthestate.org\/archive\/98-february-4-18-1970\/students-plan-anti-war-meet\/","title":{"rendered":"Students Plan Anti-War Meet"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>College and high school antiwar activists and leaders are scheduled to converge on the campus of Cleveland&#8217;s Case-Western Reserve University this month to discuss, debate and decide on a future course for the student antiwar movement.<\/p>\n<p>The February 14 and 15 national conference, called by the Student Mobilization Committee to End The War in Vietnam (SMC), is expected to be the largest anti-war student gathering to date. The SMC is encouraging all young people against the war interested in helping to chart the Spring program and strategy for the SMC and the student anti-war movement to come and participate in the conference.<\/p>\n<p>Locally the Detroit SMC is organizing buses for transportation to the conference to provide maximum Michigan participation. Bus tickets are $6 round-trip and may be obtained from the SMC at 5705 Woodward; telephone 872-8244. Housing will be provided free in Cleveland.
